Jared Pishock
12/11/01 – 8/12/08

Our only child, Jared was our light, our life, our gift from God. At the age of 2, Jared was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He underwent 3+ years of treatment, which was the standard protocol. He grew into a bright, compassionate boy and enjoyed pre-school, video games, karate classes, and spending time with his friends. He thought all kids had ‘hospital days’ and got ‘pokes’ like he did!

After successfully completing treatment in June of 2007, Jared relapsed in August 2007. We now knew that a bone marrow transplant was imminent. In April 2008, Jared entered CHOP to prepare for his bone marrow transplant. Over the next weeks and months, many complications arose, from graft versus host to respiratory disease. God took Jared back peacefully in August 2008.

Jared was a firefighter, in many senses of the word, with a warm smile, big brown eyes, and an infectious laugh. He bravely fought every battle that came his way.

Our faith, family, and friends have given us strength to face every day. We believe Jared has given us the strength to establish this memorial fund and help others in his name. We hope you’ll join us!
